2008 July 12th – New Delhi reports Port and Dock workers to go on nationwide strike. The strike is expected to begin July 16th. All major ports are likely to be affected.

2008 June – Greece: All ports in Greece are protesting, they are closed for months. Only Thesaloniki port is partly operative

2008 May – Serious situation in Guinea – STOP all shipments bout for Guinea until further notice!. The army is rebelling, due to soldiers not having received remuneration for the past 12 weeks. Barricades have been erected by the soldiers in the capital city, and gunshots were fired near military stations in and around Conakry. The airport was looted by rebels, and this has hindered air traffic. Fortunately, AGS Frasers Guinea had no recorded consignments at the airport. and our warehouse has suffered no damage.

2008 April – France and IMO agree on prevention and suppression of piracy and armed robbery

2008 March – Effective March 31st, 2008 Brazil Customs will apply new regulation to the export and import cargo shipped from/to Brazilian ports and in-transit cargo transported through their ports.
