When Moving to China

Regulations For Importing things into China
- Original passport with residence permit valid for one year
- Original work permit for one year is required
- Application form documentation required
- Authorization form documentation required
- Restrictions when importing household goods including photo copiers, cordless phones, motorcycle, fire arms, animals, plants, food, medicine,
- Dutiable Items (electrical, furniture, piano, oriental antiques, golf clubs) - all items must be listed and easily accessible. Note: duties & taxes for alcohol are extremely high.
- Automobiles - foreigners are allowed to import one car per person. No diesel vehicles are allowed in China. *Automobile Import Permits are required before shipment leaves the states. * some old cars will not pass local environmental standards.
- Pets - only cats or dogs can be imported into China. Health Certificate and original Certificate of Rabies Vaccination is required. Animals will be quarantined for 30 – 45 days at Beijing Airport. Veterinary inspection must be arranged by owner upon arrival.
